Within Reach is an exhibition celebrating the unique and diverse artistic voices of the 2024 Class of Undergraduate Visual Arts students at Columbia University and Barnard College. The title connotes both the burgeoning nature of these artists’ careers as well as the often intimate and introspective quality of their work. The exhibition is organized by Jacqueline Yu (CC’24) and Victoria Reshetnikov (CC’24), the latter of which is also featured in the show.

Within Reach is on view at the NYC Culture Club (185 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10006) from August 8th to September 8th, Wednesdays through Sundays from 12 - 7 PM. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, August 8th from 6 - 9 PM. It is free to visit.

Tejasri Vijayakumar is a New York based artist that considers her personal identity, heritage, and dance practice through her creative process. Her practice digests Hindi philosophy, aesthetics, and lived experience, particularly in reference to the body as a conduit for myth and storytelling. Her work, like Aranyakanda, often incorporates movement while also disembodying traditional Indian dance. In this case, the sculpture disconnects bangles traditionally worn on the body and uses them as connective tissue for a series of narrative drawings.
