Within Reach is an exhibition celebrating the unique and diverse artistic voices of the 2024 Class of Undergraduate Visual Arts students at Columbia University and Barnard College. The title connotes both the burgeoning nature of these artists’ careers as well as the often intimate and introspective quality of their work. The exhibition is organized by Jacqueline Yu (CC’24) and Victoria Reshetnikov (CC’24), the latter of which is also featured in the show.

Within Reach is on view at the NYC Culture Club (185 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10006) from August 8th to September 8th, Wednesdays through Sundays from 12 - 7 PM. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, August 8th from 6 - 9 PM. It is free to visit.

Kathryn Whitten is a visual artist based in California. Her soft, romantic landscape paintings and drawings of night scenes elicit a tenderness for the surrounding natural world, even as it fades into visual obscurity at the end of each day. As Whitten states, she is interested in “illuminating the miraculous in the ordinary.”
