Within Reach is an exhibition celebrating the unique and diverse artistic voices of the 2024 Class of Undergraduate Visual Arts students at Columbia University and Barnard College. The title connotes both the burgeoning nature of these artists’ careers as well as the often intimate and introspective quality of their work. The exhibition is organized by Jacqueline Yu (CC’24) and Victoria Reshetnikov (CC’24), the latter of which is also featured in the show.

Within Reach is on view at the NYC Culture Club (185 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10006) from August 8th to September 8th, Wednesdays through Sundays from 12 - 7 PM. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, August 8th from 6 - 9 PM. It is free to visit.

Hana Maatouk is a Saudi-Spanish artist whose work grapples with the discrepancy between contemporary socio-political shifts in Saudi Arabia and her memories growing up there. Her vibrant, surrealist style evokes a transcendent memory-scape, a concept that draws from 12th century Andalucian mystic Ibn Arabi and his Islamic philosophy of divine time-space.
